Original Poem "Two Left Feet" by Coletha Albert

Two Left Feet

When he was proud he should have been meek
When he stayed he should have made a fast retreat
When he should have went left he turned round
When he should have been in class he was beach bound

He went through a time when he had two giant left feet
But he stayed the course through taunts and defeat
He steeled his resolve and decided to be tough
To go through disciplines no matter how rough
To keep pressing on to do what was right
To come through hard times into light
To sing, to dance, to cry to fight
To survive, to try and be nice
To be courteous, polite
To win, stick in, be polite
To live on, to win and be nice
To love, to hurt, to laugh, to fight
To sail through all storms into light
To keep going on, to doing all that's right
To go through tragedies no matter how rough
He steeled his decisions, his resolve more tough
For he stayed his course through jeers and defeat
He made the most of his life, corrected his two left feet.
